One White’s- “Space-Up”
Rockets and Aliens in
Boxes
As
part of our Unit of Inquiry on Space each student in One White created an alien
creature or a space rocket using recycled material. After looking at a photo of
the amazing installation “Give A Dog A Bone” 1996 by Fiona Hall in the
Contemporary Museum of Art (Sydney) we were inspired to place our recycled
creations into “space boxes”.

The
following photos show how our artwork evolved over time.
1.
We
We made our creations from recycled material at home and brought them in to
school. Here are some examples:
Jessica’s alien
Owen’s alien
Scarlett’s
rocket
Next
we painted our boxes, decorated them and placed our alien or rocket inside our
boxes.

Finally
we stacked our boxes for our art exhibition. We hope you have enjoyed viewing
“Space-Up”.
